                Breakthrough in Gaza Hostage Release Agreement

In a significant development announced by Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid al-Ansari, a temporary ceasefire is set to commence at 7 am local time on Friday, spanning both the north and south regions of the Gaza Strip.





Here are the key points of the agreement:

- **Hostage Release:** At approximately 4 pm on Friday, 13 hostages, exclusively comprising women and children, will be released. The Red Cross will facilitate the transfer, although specifics about their route out of Gaza remain undisclosed.




- **Expectations of Palestinian Prisoner Release:** Qatar anticipates the release of Palestinian prisoners as a consequence of the hostages' liberation, yet no numerical details have been provided.




- **Israeli Confirmation:** Israel has acknowledged receiving a list of individuals set for release, initiating contact with their families.

 



- **Hamas' Confirmation:** Hamas has confirmed the commencement of a four-day pause starting at 7 am. During this period, four fuel trucks and 200 aid trucks will be permitted to enter Gaza each day.


 

Majed Al-Ansari, the Qatari foreign office spokesman, expressed optimism about the plan, describing it as "sound and robust." While stopping short of absolute confidence, he conveyed a hopeful outlook, citing positive commitments from both sides.
